Resolved Question: If a deposit is given on a car and someone else comes along and offers more $$, caan the dealer back out of th?

I negotiated a really good price on a car at a used car dealer and gave them a deposit. I have caught them in numerous lies and they are doing everything they can to deter and stall the sale? Do I have any recourse? Two weeks have gone by and the car is still posted on the website? They have not returned any calls or emails. What can I do?

Resolved Question: How does auto financing work?

If the sales man told me $22,000 and I agreed on that as my final price, what happens with that in the finance department? Is the $22,000 what I will pay for when I finish paying of the car? How should I settle my final price, how should I respond?

Open Question: Do lienholders (banks) report sale to DMV or only dealerships?

I know that car dealerships do "Report of Sales" to DMV (California) which includes the selling price and with that includes the transfer of title fee. But what about private party? If you obtain a private loan through a financial institution and the financial institution makes the loan check out to the selling party, and you give the selling party the check, and the selling party give you the vessel AND title, and of course you have to list the financial institution as the lien holder, does the financial institution report the sale price (or loan amount) to DMV? Or is that the buyers responsibility? Would they ever cross-reference the buying price with the loan amount?! I'm trying to explain this to my boyfriend, that sale prices are reported either by the buying party, or by a dealership whom are required by law to submit Report of Sales (ROS), but he's saying banks (or the loaner) report the selling price to DMV as well.

Open Question: How to know if bigger custom rims will fit on my car ?

Hi, So I need to know is what custom rims will fit on my car. What I know is that my smaller brother has a Honda Civic that has 15" tyres while my elder brother also has the same model civic but has 14" tyres. I am looking to purchase a similiar type of vehicle [Honda Civic 2002/2003/2004/2005] and I intend to put on bigger custom rings [probably Deep Dish rims] so what I want to know is what are the best possible fit such as 16" or 17", plus can I put on rear rims wider than the front ones as in sports cars. I know that a the store guy can exactly determine but Im afraid that the store guy might just try to make a sale with out telling the whole truth. Any ideas, ThanX Ayo Mr RogerHole.....diGG this... I have over 8 years driving experience, driven Calrsson Aigner Merc 2009 @ 200km/h, Porsches Cayenne Turbo @ 231km/h, Bentley Continental GT 2011 @ 150km/h.... you might be the top contributor so cease playing A**H*** or smart a**...and stick to the question...You werent forced to to answer this question, go waste your time elsewhere or sit on a toilet yourself...D***H*** To everyone else: I need to know if the rims will damage the underbody of the vehicle on speed-breakers, or when turning will it touch the fender underside...

Resolved Question: Would you buy a car like this?

I had a business idea to buy a used 4 cylindar car with a pristine interior, and pristine body, but with a lot of mechanical problems. I would completely replace the engine with something fuel effecient, and toss as many fuel efficient mods as possible on it, some of which will also slightly increase horse power. Now you have a car with 0 miles that's faster and more fuel efficient than the original. Everything such as the AC will be checked out and working before it's up for sale. Would you buy this car? Would you rather just buy a hybrid? My mom says people who don't know a lot about cars don't trust modifacations. Is this true for you? Would it still be true if everything that went into the car was completely explained? Also, I would be selling the car for Kelly blue book price as if it wasn't modded.

Open Question: private car sale laws?

My husband sold a car to someone a few days ago and she is now demanding a refund or else she says she is taking us to court. BEFORE she purchased the car, she took it to the dealership mechanic (of her choosing) and was given a list of the repairs that needed done. They also said that there may be more problems but they would have to run further diagnostics. She still wanted the car , knowing what the mechanic said, so we sold it at a lower cost to her. Now 3 days later she is saying that there was more work than she realized and wants to return the car for a full refund. She keeps going on about a 30 day refund law that we have to meet. This just seems ridiculous to me considering it was a private "As Is" sale and she had it taken to the mechanic (of her choosing) first. Does any one know the laws for this type of thing and if she really has a 30 day return? lol, this isn't walmart or a dealership so I just don't understand how this could possibly be true. Just wondering if I should receive a lawyer on this.

Open Question: do you pay a tax when trading cars with someone in NYS?

i was wondering because when i went to DMV to fill out the form for sales tax there was a section that asked if the car was traded with someone else for their car. i plan to trade my car for another car when im ready and it would be an even trade, no cash involved just trading ownership. would i have to pay some sort of sales tax at the DMV?

Resolved Question: Is buying a bike for a grand really worth it?

I'm trying to decide whether I should buy a road bike for a grand that went down from $1400 on sale. I am 15 years old in high school so I don't arrive across money often. I'd like to use it to ride to my school which is 3 miles away, also to work during the summer, and also to the gym which is half a mile away. I'd also use it to just exercise and ride it to chilly places with a lot of scenery, since I live on a big island. Also to ride with friends and down the road to the local seven eleven or to receive pizza if I put a rack of some nice on it. I hate bothering my parents to steer me to places and want to become more independent and commute around my town on my possess.I won't be able to receive a hold of a car until I'm 17 and a half or so, and that is not because of money. What do you think? Is it too much for a 15 year old or is it worth it. I'll need a bike anyway and I'd buy one for $300 but that again might as well buy a good one once and never have to buy another for a very long time.

Open Question: What can I do for fundraising?

I am a kids's pastor and every year we depend on the Sonic fundraising cards for our summer camp. I usually spend $10 on a pack of one hundred discount cards and then sale each card for $5 a piece, letting the kids keep 100% of the profit. Sonic has discontinued these card :(. Are there any other businesses do something similar? I want my kids to sale stuff instead of doing the conventional car wash and stuff like that. Would adore any ideas.

Open Question: how can i make money to buy a car?

Im a 16 year old guy and I want to start saving up for my first car. I will be getting my license in a few months. I have a part time job. I am making about $75-$140 a week. What other ways can I make money for a car. I want to make about $7K by January/February, any ideas? I adore animals and I am great with them. I am also very good with ANYTHING tech related. I know every detail about every electronic out their, cell phones/carrier/plans/computers/mp3/tabletsECT... One time I sold a women (about 65 years old) a mac book and she was in best buy, I walked with her from best buy to the apple store, showed her what she needed/wanted and I got a sales rep to complete the sale ($1000) (I was 14 at the time) so anything along those lines, as you can look I would be a good electronic sales rep. I am open to any ideas!!!

Open Question: Should I go out when I have work the next morning?

Work friends are going out tomorrow night and I have work until 10pm they would be going to town then and want me to go with. Only problem is is that I have work again at 8am until 10pm. I wouldn't normally go to snooze til 1/half 1 anyways because I never do, and I work in residential care so on a Sunday morning it would mean sitting about in the units or going out to the car boot sale or whatever and in the evening it would be pretty chilled out. The bosses won't be working as they only work through the week and the supervisors are just like the relax of us - go out drinking and out with us lot! But still unsure, I really want to go as one of my colleagues is leaving to go live in Wales and another has already left and would be their last night out with us too for a while. What would you do?! Helpppp!

Open Question: Ebay small business advice?

I used to sell some things on Ebay a couple of years ago (buying at car boot sales and selling on). It wasnt a lot of stuff really and was a bit of a hobby of mine. I only did it for a few months and then stopped but I still have some of the items left. My husband has recently been made redundant so I would now like/need to have a proper business selling off the old things I had bought and buying new similar stock etc. I want to incorporate my older items but I dont have any receipts for most of it so sorting out the tax etc will be a nightmare because I cant prove exactly how much I paid. Most came from boot sales and some from a supermarket clearance. I know roughly what I paid but really dont know what to do. Any suggestions? It is about £750 in total and is probably enough to jump start a tiny business.

Hello, I recently found a used 2006 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor with 130,000 miles on it for sale for $4,400. Open Question: Does this '99 Dodge diesel look like a good deal?

This could be my second truck for high school (current is a dodge '85 half-ton 4x4 single cab short bed, it just too tiny for me and kinda on its last leg). It is basically exactly what im looking for (3/4 ton ext cab tardy 90's dodge diesel that already kinda tricked out) and we need a back up puller around the farm. 4x4 not really needed cause converting the '85 to my mudder/toy. http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?zip=76691&endYear=2013&listingType=used&maxPrice=15000&modelCode1=RAM25002WD&makeCode2=CHEV&modelCode2=CHEVC25&showcaseOwnerId=1329124&makeCode1=DODGE&modelCode3=GMCC25PU&startYear=1990&bodyStyles=TRUCKS&numRecords=100&makeCode3=GMC&searchRadius=75&minPrice=0&listingId=320482517&Log=0 I also really like the setup on it and how it looks (want it too be sorta bad@ss also) 1. its gona primarily be a driver/show off truck (remember im in HIGH SCHOOL) 2. It's rarely muddy, I never go alone, and Im a master 2wd mudder 3. Its not gona tow anything besides whats on the yard when every others hooked up already (already have 3 other trucks) 4. Resolved Question: How do you deal with promotional scams?

Best buy has a promotion that sent me a text message on my cell phone saying that I "won" a $1,000.00 worth of product. When I faithfully went to their web site and filled out the required form and survey, it questioned me about my car insurance needs and then promptly terminated. After receiving several car insurance agent email and a phone call within minutes, I realized that I'd been had. My wife said that I should never store there again. My inclination is to return to Best Buy often asking the sales staff about where my $1,000.00 coupon is. I am inclined to do this loudly and as many times as I am in the area of Best Buy. How have you reacted to similar promotional scams?

Open Question: What cheap transportation options are there to tour Alaska?

I am planning an Alaska vacation of three weeks in July, covering a radius of 150 miles to Brooks Falls, Seward, Homer, and Denali National Park. After Alaska Airways, $500; and float plane for Brooks, $700; Denali tour bus and camping, $100; my budget is rather blown. I need cheap transportation for the remaining two weeks of backpacking among campgrounds and trails on the Kenai Peninsula, Chugach National Forest. I have considered car rental, $1,800; purchasing and re-selling a wreck car; motor-scooter; and used bicycle with trailer for re-sale. I would be thankful for ideas about how to receive around the Kenai Peninsula with flexible destinations and reasonable costs.

Open Question: Sue a Car Dealer who kept a part of Down Payment?

Hi, Recently I bought a used car from a "used car" dealer for $14K. I made $4K down payment and financed (loaned) remaining $10K. At the time of the sale I was told that in case I decide to return the car within a week I will be charged $200 as restocking fees. The next day I got a call from the dealer that the bank has not approved my loan for 6 years but only for 4 years. In such a case I would have to pay more money as monthly installments. As paying a big monthly installment was not in my budget, I decided to return the car. When I returned the car, the dealer deducted $200 from the down payment I made and gave me only $3800. My question is, as it was not my mistake due to which I had to return the car, is it possible for me to sue the dealer/company? Thanks a lot for any suggestions and how to proceed on this.

So would that make them a lien holder against my home when I decide to sell my home. would the money then arrive out of the escrow account during the sale of the home. I can't sell the home until the car loan problem is settled and I can't settle until I sell me home OK question number 2 I should be able to sell my home without any problems. Then after the sale if I decide to be a normal person I can go to the debt company and pay the charged off loan. So unless a person specifically uses real estate for collateral or a judgement was filed against him for the car loan, it shouldn't effect the sale of my home?

Open Question: What do you think of a 19 year old gettig a 1990 Honda civic hatchback as first car?

I'm 19 currently I steer a 99 Honda civic coupe my moms car got repossessed and I want to give her my coupe. She said shed give me 1500 for it I paid 2600 for it and found a 1990 hatch for sale I looked at it today and drove it from what I could look everything was in good condition for a car that old. I'm not a professional driver but I'm a safe and fairy good driver basically I just want a second opinion the hatch is worth the money. The hatch has 208,000 miles on it but my mechanic said Honda motors can last 300,000 + miles if well maintenced and from what I can look and what the owner has said is it has been taken care of

Open Question: Are we being to "independent"? (buying our baby stuff before the shower)?

Since we found out we were pregnant we have bought pretty much everything for our baby. We bought the crib dresser & toy boys new. But other wise we have been watching yard sales, buying 2nd time around things for our baby. We bought a $140 high seat for $5 (chico) baby crib mattress for $10 Stroller that is new in the box for $10 Chico car seat $5 (normally over $130) Baby tub for $1 Bambo seat & tray (normally $55+) for $10 We have been buying diapers when we have extra money or coupons (plus receive fuel perks for our local store) My family & friends yelled at me for being to independent! The lady next door was serious MAD at me for buying things. They every think I should have waited till my baby shower (5 weeks before my due date) I feel like if our baby came today (27 weeks) a side from clothes we would be ready! We also did not find out the gender so buying clothes is not an option. As of now we have about 40 items on my registry. Mostly little stuff. I was forced to have a wedding shower. My wedding shower was a surprise. There is NO way my family will let me not have a baby shower. This is the first "great" grandchild/great niece or nephew for a lot of them. I just feel like we didn't have a baby to relay on others & why would people play $160 for something when we can receive it for $20 the same thing just twice loved? The car seat is below a year old. (manufacture date is on the seat) The mom bought this one & was given 1 at her shower. She used the 1 that was from her shower. (it was pink she had a girl this 1 is green) It also came with the box. Other wise YES I would never use it.

Open Question: What are the car dealer home based business requirements or guidelines for Illinois?

It is my understanding that in certain states you can possess a car dealer license and do not require an actual lot but can operate from home as a home based business. An example would be ebay car sales. Is this possible in Illinois if so what is required?

Resolved Question: Can someone tell me how can I get the most money for my 98 toyota Carolla?

I recently purchased a new car and trying to receive rid of my old car, but I need the most money from my car. The offer I am getting is not that great because I know they will turn around and sale it for more. The Value of the car is between $1888-$2500 according to kelly blue books. But people have tried to quote me $800 wtf? Any how I need to receive more money for my car put yet reasonable price. I've posted on craigslist and backpage anyone has any additional site or where can I receive quick cash for my car? This is the current ad that I have up http://miami.craigslist.org/brw/cto/3025121268.html Rob R I know I could not sale it for $2500 I was just giving the price range of course I set it higher so the buyer has an opportunity to negotiate the price down because I want to look what people will offer for it. If you know anything about marketing you set a price and leave way for negotiating. I would be unrealistic if I say that I can sale the car for $2500 but would not mind getting $1000-$1200 the engine runs fine never had a problem with it. It's in running condition. ***Rob R**** First of every Rob whore I don't know Sh*t about cars and I don't care as I purchased my self a brand new 2012 Camry SE I am getting rid of this junk car and wanted some positive feed back, to look how much I should receive back for it I just wanted to look how much would be an ideal price for my return on this junk car. And about the GED part I work in the Medical Field snooze on a Gorgeous bed worth $3333 called the Hollywood Swank, you dirty car sales men keep your fu'k'ing nasty comments to your self. But for everyone else that was able to share an opinion with me without getting personal like Rob B, Thanks so much for your time and your answer. Rob F(U)K you dirty car sales men. receive a real life. Car Sales men / Medical Field are totally different. I bet your hungry looking for your next commission. Good riddings B(i)atch! (Clearing my throat with massive mucus to spit on Rob B ) ("Spits on Robs Face") (sound effect "Tooooof") lands right

Open Question: I need to figure out weather i should lease or buy a car?

Hi, I am stuck on what i should do. I have been to every dealer in my area and looked at leasing and buying new and used cars but some have rebates and what not I really want a 2012 ford focus SEL but i really dont want to pay over say 275 a month for a car and I feel like leasing a car for 36 months makes more sense insted of having a 6 year note but i feel if i am going to receive a newer car than i should be glad with it and i would like leather seats push to start moonroof every arrive standard in the '12 focus sel but i think i am looking for below 18000 to receive below 300/month in payments anyone have any ideas on what options i have in order to receive a car i would like for driving that wont kill me in the bank. i would buy older something below 200/month that is what i want but i cant find any for sale that isnt a base model. i just feel i should like my car and not settle with some cheap POS that i will hate. I steer well below 12k miles a year and i have another car payment so i dont want to go overboard with a massive car payment or having another note for 5+ years if the car isnt worth it
